December 2: Alivia Jo’s 2 month birthday!
December 3: 1st snow of the yearrrrr! (such a love/hate relationship with this lol)
December 6: LCS basketball games vs. Seward!
December 8: Michael and I watched the Chiefs game at his house…. obviously they picked up the dub 😉
December 9: This day was a busy one… first off, I finally caved and decided to put my acrylics back on, so I got those done with Kim! After that, I went to the LCS basketball games vs. Lincoln Lutheran! Lastly once the games were finished, Analise, Sophia & I grabbed some food at Chipotle and then headed back to Ana’s house and just hung for a bit! so,so thankful for those two gals… they sure are good for my soul
December 11: This day is always one I look forward to each year for a couple different reasons… first off, we have the annual family Christmas with my grandma’s side of the family in a teeny tiny town… Pawnee City, Nebraska. After we are done there, my momma, Shaylee and I always go out and put flowers on our relatives’ graves while up there and also, drive by the house that my grandma grew up (or my mom’s grandparent’s house or my great-grandparent’s house) in! Our last tradition we do on this Sunday each year, is stop by the local Casey’s there in town, grab some snacks, and then start to read through some of the loads of Christmas letters we receive each holidaty season on our way back to Lincoln.
December 15: Dawn’s last day at QWS! My momma and Dawn first met while working together at State Farm, so we have known her for quite a long time now and she definitely holds a special place in our hearts! This Thursday morning, the whole crew at QWS showed up real early before Dawn did, and we all suprised her with a big ole breakfast on her last day! We were so, so sad to see her go, but more importantly, we were way more excited for her to finally start this new adventure!
December 17: This Saturday I got to spend with my momma! 🙂 We had brunch at Greenfields, then went shopping and ran lots of different errands.
December 22: was our first day of break, but the girls and I decided to still get up real early and meet for breakfast at VI, so that way we could do at least something all together before we all got busy and went our seperate ways. Good, good food and good, good friends make for the perfect Thursday!
December 24: Christmas Eve! Each year my family (the 10 of us) have a set of traditions that we continue to take part of. First off, my momma, Shaylee, Liv & I went to church up in Omaha at Brookside! loved, loved, loved that service and the drive wasn’t too bad at all; just some heavy fog in some areas. After that, we always go over to the Boden’s. While there we all eat soups and breads and desserts together. We finish off Christmas Eve night, by opening gifts from one another and then put out cookies & milk out for Santa 😉 and carrots & oats for his reindeer!
December 25: Christmas Day! Our Christmas traditions with the family continue as the morning of the 25th, we get up bright and early and head back over to the Boden’s. Once there, we all eat breakfast together again and then light some candles and eat cake and sing “Happy Birthday” to Jesus. We clean up after our meal and then hang out for a little bit until that afternoon, then we head back to our house and do our Christmas (dinner & opening gifts) with Michael & Kitter.
December 28-31: I went back and spent some time with grandma & grandpa by myself. I definitely don’t get to do this as much as my heart desires, but I do cherish the times I can and always leave feeling refreshed and ready to go. 🙂
December 31: NYE! Usually when New Years rolls around, I always have a long list of plans with friends or family, but this year, I kinda just laid back and ended up working instead and then just heading home and to bed. SUPER COOL, RIGHT? 😉 I’m definitely not a party animal, so ringing in the New Year all by myself on the road/ in my bed, was just fine with me. 🙂
So, so thankful for all the life lessons, new friendships, accomplished goals, and memories 2016 brought, but even more excited to take on everything 2017 will bring, especially with this little blog! Here’s to a much, much needed fresh start & lots of blank pages…. make it a good one, sweet friends!
Much love, Davianne
P.S: OF COURSE, I just happened to have more phone issues and had to wipe my phone again (seriously i’m cursed lol), so I lost a bunch more photos… so there’s not as many pictures as I wanted this time, but we’ll live. 😉
