Valentine’s Day/ Lil Poms Clinic 2016

hey there,

Quote: “Give God your weaknesses and He’ll give you His strength”

this week was crazy busy, mostly because it was the week before State Cheer, so each night usually was consisted of cheer practices and such! although, there were three major events that were a lot of fun and took up most of the weekend!Β  here’s what they were:

February 12: every year, my cheer leading squad does a Valentine’s Day fundraiser, where students or staff from the school can order an item for another loved one. we sell all sorts of things such as: roses, heart balloons, chocolates, Eileen’s cookies, conversation hearts, different sized teddy bears, etc. and then deliver it to the receiving person the day or so before Valentine’s Day! so this year, on Friday, the 12th, that’s what we did! πŸ™‚ we got to school early in the mornin’ and got everything ready to go then sent the orders out. this is one of our favorite fundraisers/ holidays to do, because we get to spend time with one another and really just share the extra love with others! cute photos below from that, so check ’em out!

February 13: Lil Poms Clinic! this year, our Lil Poms Clinic happened to fall right after our V-day fundraiser which was a super stressful and tiring process getting it all ready at the same time, but overall we were able to pull it off and have a great time! On this Saturday, once again we got to school bright and early, and set up for the clinic. the girls who participated, were dropped off about 9:00 AM. we divide them into 3 different age groups, and teach them: a cheer, dance, motions, and jumps. they also get a t-shirt to match us, mini poms and a snack. at 12:00, their families and/or friends come and we preform it for them. then, they leave and come back later that night to the boys basketball game, and we preform it at halftime for the entire crowd! this is another one of our top favorite events of the year because, the little girls are absolutely adorable and it’s so exciting to be able to teach them about what it’s like to follow your dreams and actually be a cheerleader! pictures from this, also below!

February 14: Valentine’s Day! every year, my momma, Shaylee, and i usually go somewhere or do something special in remembrance of my dad’s birthday, which is the 13th, but like i told y’all earlier i had Lil Poms that day. Because of that, we couldn’t really go too far, so we ended up just taking a quick trip up to Omaha, and spending the day there! we went shopping at few different places, and ate dinner at this delicious restaurant- Carabba’s Italian Grill. if you are ever in O-town and looking for somewhere good to eat, i definitely recommend going there!

my quote for this week was “Give God your weaknesses and He’ll give you His strength”, in case you didn’t catch that above. the times that i really found it playing in and helping me the most was at night after the long, long days or early in the morning when i had to get up before the sun was out, and i was so worn out and exhausted and really just needed that extra encouragement and reminder.

thanks for reading and don’t forget to check out the photos below! i hope you all had a fantastic week and wonderful holiday with your families, and really felt the love! πŸ™‚ much love, Davianne.

new additions

hey there,

at the beginning of each week, i write out all my plans for the upcoming days on a board in my room, to help me keep track of everything that’s taking place. along with that, i pick out and write down a quote that i look back on throughout the week, one to remember and live by.

i’ve been thinking a lot and have decided that each Sunday, the day i usually switch to the new week, I’m going to {hopefully} post on here, giving an update of my weekend & the quote i had for that week, and maybe share how it impacted or came into play for different events throughout my week.

with that being said, here’s my week/weekend recap for today:

β€’quote: “it might take a year, it might take a day, but what’s meant to be will always find it’s way”

this week, as in the 5 days, was pretty boring when it comes to big events happening, but we did have 2 snow days thanks to the big snow storm. ❄⛄ it was nice to be able to stay in and warm, catch up on some missing hours of sleep, and get some things done around the house.

although, yesterday was an exciting day because not only did we get to cheer at basketball games, but it was also Parents Night & we preformed our State Routine in front of the crowd for the final time before we compete at the real thing in a couple of weeks! β€πŸ’™ πŸŽ€ πŸ‘Œthankful that they take the time to recognize the cheerleaders, and our parents, and all the hard work and time we put in. 😊

there wasn’t a specific event, i guess, that the quote played into this week, but rather more of the little moments. I’ve been working really hard on remembering to be patient with God and trust that He has a plan, and it is the greatest plan of all. So, throughout the week when i was feeling impatient or frustrated with how things were working out, i would go back to this quote & remind myself that what is meant to be takes time, but will always find its way.

I’m so excited to take on this next week as it is not only Valentine’s Day, but also full of cheer things and a very special day for my family- remembering my daddy’s birthday. πŸ’• i can’t wait to start this new part of my blog and see how it all plays out! πŸ‘Œ be sure to check out the photos below.

thanks for reading. much love, Davianne. ❀

January❄

hey y’all,

life has been crazy busy this month, especially these last few weeks, and i haven’t got much down time, but i am so excited to share all the fun things I’ve been up to!

January 10: earlier this month, my uncle received a major promotion for his job and on this Sunday afternoon, we went out to the base for the ceremony. it was such an honoring and proud moment for not only him, but our family as a whole. ❀❀ afterwards, we went downtown in the Haymarket to Mckinney’s Pub for a party with other friends and family to celebrate! πŸŽ‰ the entire day overall was so exciting and extremely special for us all πŸ™‚

January 16: Yaya’s birthday!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ we didn’t really have anything planned ahead and she didn’t care what we ended up doing so we decided to spend the day at Conner’s wrestling meet with my family. Β i love how she will always go with the flow and is completely okay with doing the simple things. 😊 and actually, God knew i would need her and made sure she was there with me that day to take on some unexpected battles, which i am forever grateful for. ❀❀ i have been so blessed by her, in so many different ways and im beyond thankful that i can truly call her my best friend. πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ‘Œ

January 17: the last, family Christmas with my grandpa’s side of the family! πŸ˜… yes it was 3 weeks into January, but this is always the time that works best for everybody and so we wait to have it. we all get together and eat lunch, trade gifts, and just catch up on life πŸ™‚

January 21: basketball games vs Raymond Central πŸ€ love, love, love cheering basketball games πŸŽ€πŸŽ€

January 22: FINALLY the Jason Aldean, Thomas Rhett, & A Thousand Horses concert!! πŸ‘’πŸŽΆ i had been waiting for this one for awhile and boy, did it feel good to get back to the concert life! πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜†πŸ˜† that night we ended up staying at a hotel just up the road from the Century Link Century with my grandparents, because the next day…

January 23: my cousins had a cheer competition also at Century Link Center, so we spent most of the day there! πŸŽ€ both girls did amazing, and we love being able to go and support them as a family! πŸ’• after we finished there and got all checked out of our hotel, my momma, grandpa, grandma, Shaylee, and I all went and ate dinner at one of our new favs-the Old Mattress Factory πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ which is also located right down there by the Century Link Center. lastly, before heading back to town that night, we stopped at the Whole Foods there in Omaha to grab some groceries. we love Whole Foods and the one in Omaha is a thousand times better than the one here in Lincoln, so obviously we couldn’t resist πŸ˜‰πŸ˜Š

January 24: to finish off that weekend, we drove out to and spent another Sunday with my grandparents at their house. Shaylee, my grandpa, and i were able to cook and prepare all the food we gotten the day before, for the week ahead, while my momma and grandma did some work. it was just the right, nice, peaceful day we needed after the couple busy, busy days we had before. πŸ‘Œ overall the weekend was so much fun and full of lots and lots of memories! 😊❀❀ps- super cute photos below, so make sure ya check em out ☺

January 27: dinner with fam to celebrate Conner’s birthday! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ we all got together and ate at Copal Mexican Cuisine. Conner was the only one who had eaten there, before so it was a new experience for all of us… and not a bad one πŸ˜‰. if you’re looking for some good Mexican food but with a twist, i would recommend going there! πŸ‘

January 28: Centennial Basketball Conference games began. This Thursday night, both boys {boys playing against the other loser of first round} and girls played Omaha Concordia and won! πŸ€πŸ‘Œ always fun to be able to cheer πŸŽ€ on both teams, especially when they end up winning πŸ˜‰πŸ’.

January 29: Centennial Conference games continue- girls play Lincoln Lutheran and of course, won! 😊😊 fun to have a good ole game between the rivals ha.

January 30: Centennial Conference championship game, and final day cheering for the weekend. this game was a really big one because we played Bishop Neumann- the only team our girls have lost to, and when they did it was by one point. butttt, the girls showed them exactly how good they really are and blew Bishop Neumann out, becoming Centennial Confrence champions! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ exciting, exciting times for sure! πŸ€πŸ€πŸ˜πŸ˜ cheered at games 3 days straight, but still no complaints πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š

and there we are!.. looking into February, there are a lot of exciting things happening and all my weekends are packed the entire month 😩, but i am going to try really, really hard to update after each one πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ‘Œ, but we will see πŸ˜‰ make sure to check out the photos below. ☺

thanks for reading, and sticking with me. 😊 much love, Davianne. ❀
