hey there,
hopefully you have read my August-September recap and now it’s time for October. slowly, but surely getting everything caught up! π
October ππππΎ was a busy month, but as far as big (ish) events going on, it was pretty relaxed. below are some dates and details for those that did take place.
October 3: this Saturday was of course, Husker football. Adanya invited me to go along with her family to Memorial Stadium for a private watch-party type thing, since the Huskers were playing away at Illinois. Β Through her mom’s job, they were invited and i happened to get to join them for this yearly tradition. the game was an afternoon one, so we waited to head down, until the late morning. once we got there, we ate delicious food, played games, took pictures, and of course watched the game. it was a bit chilly, and the Huskers had a heartbreaking loss in the last few seconds, but overall it was blast! looking for many more adventures like this to come!! πππ―
October 9: possibly my favorite football game to cheer at, the Sword Game! each year, Lincoln Christian (the Crusaders) and Lincoln Lutheran (the Warriors) play against each other in the “Battle of the Swords” game. i love this because it’s super fun, just being in that atmosphere with such a thick rivalry at hand. also, it’s so exciting to see who will get the sword. this year of course, we kept it, continuing on the streak. like always, we creamed ’em: 58 to 26. what can i say? π how about… maybe next year LL, maybe next year. ππ
October 11: my cousin Katie’s birthday is on the 12th, so this Sunday before, we decided to do our traditional birthday dinner as a family for her. we met up for lunch at Valentino’s and spent most of the afternoon together. in our family, she is the youngest grandchild and so, for her to be turning 10 years old already, is beyond us. i mean c’mon, that alone makes me feel old. πππ
October 13: this was a Tuesday night, and usually Tuesday nights in the fall mean, volleyball games. with that being said, there was a volleyball game against Columbus Scotus. given their team was extremely good, we lost pretty bad, but it’s alright. there are some nice photos of me below though, so take a look. Β π
October 17: this Saturday, all the cheerleaders got up bright and early and headed to the school for an 8 hour practice with our choreographer, learning our competition/ state routine. it was pretty cool because our choreographer ended up being the same girl, we had a camp this year! the day went well, but let’s just say by the end, we were EXHAUSTED. π© π
October 22: the cheerleaders got together with some people from the student section, and put together a fun, little pep rally! this day, we finally preformed, and it went great! it was something new, and a complete blast for everyone! πππ
October 23: was the last football game of the season, against Fairbury, at Nebraska Wesleyan. we did lose, ending our season, but the night was still a fun one! the cheerleaders preformed at half time, and we nailed it! π
October 24: Husker game against Northwestern.π Shaylee & I went with grandma and grandpa, again. β€ love getting to spend quality time with them, doing something we all love!! π
October 30: End of the month of October, means Grandparents Day at school. this year it was extra fun and different, because i got to have both of them all to myself the whole day, since Shaylee graduated. ππ Also, they changed the schedule, so we ended up getting out of school early this year, instead of having our afternoon classes. After lunch, grandpa, grandma, and i spent the afternoon looking at cars and running errands. Then, just the 3 of us went to dinner and watched the Royals game. πβΎ This was extra special to me, just being able to spend the entire day/night with them. i will forever cherish those memories! β€β€
October 31: Halloween ππ»ππ½ this year was on a Saturday, which i pretty sure everyone was thankful for! π Yaya & i just spent the night with my cousins and friends, trick-or-treating, watching football, and sitting around talking and laughing continuously. ππ i was extra thankful being able to spend the holiday with her and having a fairly laid-back night. π
And there it is, the month ofOctober as a whole! don’t forget to check out the photos below. π November coming soon, so stay tuned! thanks for reading.
much love, Davianne β€
