The Month of October

hey there,

hopefully you have read my August-September recap and now it’s time for October. slowly, but surely getting everything caught up! πŸ™‚

October πŸ‚πŸπŸƒπŸŒΎ was a busy month, but as far as big (ish) events going on, it was pretty relaxed. below are some dates and details for those that did take place.

October 3: this Saturday was of course, Husker football. Adanya invited me to go along with her family to Memorial Stadium for a private watch-party type thing, since the Huskers were playing away at Illinois. Β Through her mom’s job, they were invited and i happened to get to join them for this yearly tradition. the game was an afternoon one, so we waited to head down, until the late morning. once we got there, we ate delicious food, played games, took pictures, and of course watched the game. it was a bit chilly, and the Huskers had a heartbreaking loss in the last few seconds, but overall it was blast! looking for many more adventures like this to come!! πŸˆπŸ‘ŒπŸ’―

October 9: possibly my favorite football game to cheer at, the Sword Game! each year, Lincoln Christian (the Crusaders) and Lincoln Lutheran (the Warriors) play against each other in the “Battle of the Swords” game. i love this because it’s super fun, just being in that atmosphere with such a thick rivalry at hand. also, it’s so exciting to see who will get the sword. this year of course, we kept it, continuing on the streak. like always, we creamed ’em: 58 to 26. what can i say? πŸ˜‰ how about… maybe next year LL, maybe next year. πŸˆπŸ†

October 11: my cousin Katie’s birthday is on the 12th, so this Sunday before, we decided to do our traditional birthday dinner as a family for her. we met up for lunch at Valentino’s and spent most of the afternoon together. in our family, she is the youngest grandchild and so, for her to be turning 10 years old already, is beyond us. i mean c’mon, that alone makes me feel old. πŸŽ‰πŸŽπŸŽ‚

October 13: this was a Tuesday night, and usually Tuesday nights in the fall mean, volleyball games. with that being said, there was a volleyball game against Columbus Scotus. given their team was extremely good, we lost pretty bad, but it’s alright. there are some nice photos of me below though, so take a look. Β πŸ‘Œ

October 17: this Saturday, all the cheerleaders got up bright and early and headed to the school for an 8 hour practice with our choreographer, learning our competition/ state routine. it was pretty cool because our choreographer ended up being the same girl, we had a camp this year! the day went well, but let’s just say by the end, we were EXHAUSTED. 😩 πŸŽ€

October 22: the cheerleaders got together with some people from the student section, and put together a fun, little pep rally! this day, we finally preformed, and it went great! it was something new, and a complete blast for everyone! πŸ‘ŒπŸ’™πŸ’™

October 23: was the last football game of the season, against Fairbury, at Nebraska Wesleyan. we did lose, ending our season, but the night was still a fun one! the cheerleaders preformed at half time, and we nailed it! 😜

October 24: Husker game against Northwestern.🏈 Shaylee & I went with grandma and grandpa, again. ❀ love getting to spend quality time with them, doing something we all love!! πŸ™‚

October 30: End of the month of October, means Grandparents Day at school. this year it was extra fun and different, because i got to have both of them all to myself the whole day, since Shaylee graduated. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘Œ Also, they changed the schedule, so we ended up getting out of school early this year, instead of having our afternoon classes. After lunch, grandpa, grandma, and i spent the afternoon looking at cars and running errands. Then, just the 3 of us went to dinner and watched the Royals game. πŸ˜‹βšΎ This was extra special to me, just being able to spend the entire day/night with them. i will forever cherish those memories! ❀❀

October 31: Halloween πŸŽƒπŸ‘»πŸ’€πŸ‘½ this year was on a Saturday, which i pretty sure everyone was thankful for! πŸ˜‰ Yaya & i just spent the night with my cousins and friends, trick-or-treating, watching football, and sitting around talking and laughing continuously. πŸ˜πŸ˜‚ i was extra thankful being able to spend the holiday with her and having a fairly laid-back night. πŸ‘Œ

And there it is, the month ofOctober as a whole! don’t forget to check out the photos below. πŸ™‚ November coming soon, so stay tuned! thanks for reading.

much love, Davianne ❀

August- September Recap

holy cow {πŸ„}, it’s been a long time!

with school starting up, cheer season hitting full swing and the holidays throughout the fall season taking place, i haven’t had much down time at all πŸ˜• but i do have lots to share! πŸ™‚

let’s see, the last time i posted was back in early August 😣 so i guess i will throw some dates at ya and/or all the details of the things I’ve been up to since then!

August 17: first day of Sophomore year at Lincoln Christian, 😱 time flies! most years, i am 98% ready for school to begin again, just because i like getting back into that daily routine and seeing the usual people each day. πŸ‘this year though, i really just wasn’t feeling school. i know it may sound like I’m just being a typical teenager, but seriously, this year was different. i had a grand summer and all but it was so short, it was like i blinked and it was gone. i also had a few unusual blues towards the very last days of summer, mostly because i just felt old. ha. i did though, it like hit me in a weird way, that i was going to be a sophomore in high school and then i only have 2 short years left. i think part of the sadness was because i knew i wouldn’t be going to school with Shaylee and seeing her there each day in the halls and because i knew i will be driving by myself soon. also because 10th grade is known as the hardest year and i didn’t have any really “fun” classes to look forward to. don’t get me wrong, I’m all about growing up and experiencing new things and going through the HS/ College journey πŸ‘Œ, it just gave me a glance at my life and reminded me to cherish these next few years and just take it easy, ya know?

August 20: Lady Antebellum, Hunter Hayes, & Sam Hunt concert at the Century Link Center in Omaha! πŸ˜„ oooo this one, i wanted SO bad and yet Momma V managed to pull off another one of her concert surprises. πŸ˜‰ this time, we had just finished eating dinner somewhere and were getting in the cars to head home. my momma called me over to come grab the bank bags, so Shaylee and i could drop them by the bank. Of course, i went to the driver’s side of the truck to grab it from her thinking she was just going to hand it to me. instead, she told me to go around and get it from the other side, off of the seat, and so i did. lone behold, there were the tickets sitting next to the bank bags!😁 i had my little freak out moment πŸ˜‚, thanked my momma then hurried back to Shaylee to surprise her! as i was getting in the car, i handed her the tickets and took a video of her reaction.😁 anyway, the concert was so fun! we had seen Sam Hunt before, but never seen Hunter or Lady A. All of them were amazing, great entertainers, and one we would pay to see again! πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘’πŸŽΆ

August 22: the LCS football scrimmage.🏈it was a little hot and the sun was real bright 🌞, but overall it was a good morning for a scrimmage and a chance for us to practice and get ready for a real game as a squad. πŸŽ€

August 28: the first LCS football game of the season against Boys Town. Even though they cream us every year, 😳 i gotta say that Boys Town honestly does have some extremely good and talented athletes that deserve to go far. βœŠπŸ’― there were 3 major highlights of that night that will always stick out to me:

1. i got to see one of my very, very close friends, Serena. she used to go to LCS for a year and to be quite honest with you, her only friends were Yaya {also my bestfriend} and I. she was judged a lot and didn’t really get that full chance {if you know what i mean} from everyone to show who she was and that she was better than and had grown and learned from her past. looking back, those memories i have with Yaya & Serena, just laughing constantly, walking through the halls, talking and spending the days together…those memories are some of the best ones of my life. and i truly mean that. Serena impacted my life in a way that i will never be able to truly explain and i can not thank her enough for it. πŸ’• of course, though, none of us are perfect and sometimes we get mixed up with the wrong people and wrong choices and that’s okay. i hadn’t seen Serena in over a year and ugh my heart ❀❀ was so full after seeing her again. i didn’t get to chat with her long, obviously because i was cheering, but anytime i can get with her is fine with me. ☺ it made me smile ear to ear just being able to watch Yaya & her in the stands laughing and talking like old times 😊 God is good, my friends. ❀

2. football season rolling back around and just that indescribable feeling of “Friday Night Lights” and doing what i love πŸ’šπŸˆ

3. Β finally, being able to see my old cheer coach, from last year, Rachel! boy, was my heart overwhelmed that night πŸ˜‰β€ Rachel had a hugggeee impact on my life, especially in the cheerleading world. i was the little freshman last year, who apart from others, had never cheered before and Rachel took me in and shaped me to be the cheerleader i am today. for that, i can not thank her enough. ❀ her heart for Jesus is gold and i can’t think of one time, Rachel wasn’t there encouraging us in everything we did. there were some tough roadblocks we had to overcome throughout the year, but with her guidance and support, we conquered them all and most definitely, grew as squad and sisters in Christ. i could go on & on about how amazing Rachel is 😊, but i better keep it short. πŸ˜‰ the other day, a few of the other returners and i had a chat looking back on that year, the unforgettable moments πŸ’œ, and truly how much we miss Rachel 😭. either way, we are still beyond happy for Rachel and her family. we understand her trusting of God’s plans, but no doubt, would welcome her back anytime with open arms! πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‰πŸ‘β€

also after this game, Adanya & I headed over to Seacrest Field to watch the end of the Southwest vs Southeast {the big rivalry πŸ˜‰} game. so there are few, cute pics below from that. πŸ™‚

August 30: cheerleading pictures! we took this Sunday night and snapped a few photos in two outifts, our uniforms & black shirts with jeans. they are super cute, and definitely something you will want to check out! there are quite a few, so i will put a few of my favorites down below. otherwise there will be a link to see all of them, via my Facebook or if you are not my friend {silly πŸ˜‰ jk} or just prefer to see them in a different way, i will upload them to a separate page on here and you will also see the link down below to take ya there.

September 9: some of the girls from the cheer squad, including myself, headed down to the mission here in town after being asked to be part of their yearly tailgate. we painted lots of faces, preformed a cheer, ate some yummy food and just hung out with the Husker athletes who came and all the other families and friends. we love being able to help out in any way so this is something we look forward to and love to be apart of!

September 11: i ended up not having to cheer this night, and instead of going to the game, Yaya & I got together with our bestfriend Karmen. since she transferred schools 😭, we don’t get to see her as much, but it is very important for us to make time to see eachother and keep that friendship alive! 😊 we ended up just hanging at her house and having a bonfire for a bit. nothing too big but still lots of fun. below you will see one of my favorite pictures that completely describes our friendship. it shows Karmen & Yaya laughing hysterically and my feet on them. you may ask why i love it so much, when you can’t even see my face? well, because it shows 2 key things in our relationship. it shows how close we are, mentally and physically {my feet on them}. i mean really, if you can’t relax and be close knit with your bestfriends then what is the point? second, look at their faces. we are always laughing and having a good time πŸ˜‚ and i love it. so much love for those ladies, i tell ya. πŸ’•

September 14-18th: was Homecoming week at LCS. sadly, i had bronchitis and walking pneumonia so i missed most of the days, but i was able to dress out for the last 2. Thursday was Hawaiian day Β & Friday was Spirit day! β•βœ…

September 18: more specifically, this day was also the Homecoming game vs Ashland Greenwood. this game is always one to look forward to because we get to wear one of the football player’s jersey and preform a big dance at halftime. unfortunately, because of my injury, i was unable to preform with my squad, but i was extremely proud of them and how hard they worked. it turned out great! due to my sickness, i wasn’t strong enough to cheer either, but it was still fun to be down there on the sidelines with them πŸ™‚

September 19: there was this party/hangout thing at my good friend, Dominica’s house, late Saturday night. lots of people from the grade went and it was night well spent together 😁 haha.

September 25: more Friday Night Lights πŸ™‚ love cheering and being with my squad πŸˆπŸŽ€

September 26: Shaylee & I got to take Emily and Katie to the Husker football game! 🏈 so fun for just the 4 of us girls, being able to do something we all love and have some cousin bonding time! ❀❀

September 29: finally, i had my surgery to heal my toe/foot injuries. if you knew anything about it before, Β you knew that it was gross and extremely painful. I’ve missed cheering {full force} Β more than anything and im thankful, i am now on the road to recovery and being completely healed. God is faithful, a healer and so good!!! πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

there’s two things that i can’t quite remember the dates for 😳 lol but they were within August & September:

first, one Friday right after school started, Shaylee and her little nanny kids {the twins– my favvvv!!} brought me lunch and ate with me! automatically brightens up my day! 😊😊 so thankful for them!! ❀❀

second, one weekend, the whole fam went out to York to eat lunch and hang out with grandma and grandpa out on the farm to celebrate Grandma’s birthday. 🎁 i absolutely love days like these with my family and nothing relaxes my soul more than spending time with them, just taking it easy. ☺❀

well that wraps up those 2 months and here we are ready to open up October. πŸŽƒπŸ‘»πŸ‘½ Fall,πŸπŸ‚πŸƒ, Β is my absolute favorite season and time of the year and so i can not wait for it to pour out all it’s sweet treasures! i know the next few months are bound to be full of things so stay tuned and thank you, thank you, thank you, for being patient with me and reading these blogs!! πŸ‘β€
