Hello!
No, i haven’t had a thrilling event take place quite yet π but i did do something besides sitting at home π tonight so why not post about it.
This evening, one of my good friends and fellow cheerleader, Dominica and I decided to go to dinner and a movie. It wasn’t anything fancy, just Panera & Pitch Perfect 2. π Β Here’s some points that basically sum up tonight:
β’ Panera attracts all types of different people ranging from all different ages. From the junior high kids {who think they’re so cool π} who are all wearing basic white Converse & snapbacks, to college students studying, to the families with their 5 children, to the cute, little, old couple sitting close together.
β’Tons of people actually still go to the movie theater even though there are more convenient, cheaper options out there {Redbox π}.
β’ Pitch Perfect 2 was SO much better than the first one. It actually had a point to it π. Seriously though, {to me atleast} the first one was just stupid. Yeah, it had it’s funny moments and those sing-along songs that everybody loves, but it really had no point. It was confusing and really not all what everyone had made it out to be. The second one though, DOES have a point and you can understand and follow it. It’s surprisingly, pretty good.
β’It honestly is so convenient that Dominica and I live where we do. We live close enough to one another that if one needs something, it’s usually a piece of cake to take care of it. Also since we live in the same part of town and close to things, we can do nice, fun stuff like this without it being too much of a hassle.
The most important thing i think i took away from tonight was kind of the new start, i guess. Although, Dominica and I have known eachother and been bestfriends for quite a while now, we have had our bumps in the road, more in the past few years. Actually, if i remember right, this will be the first time since the beginning of last summer that Dominica and i have hung out, just the two of us, like we constantly used to.
I’m not ashamed of this. Sometimes, especially with ones you’re closest with, you need space. You get a curve ball with lots of hurt & confusion and then need room for healing. It takes time, but it’s worth it. Dominica and I never stopped being friends or talking to eachother or sitting together at lunch, we just took a “breather”. Β When a friendship gets hard at times, you don’t just give up. You don’t go talk bad about that person or shut them out completely, but rather work with what you have and try to mend the cracks that need it the most.
Whether you understand this type of situation or not, i believe it was what was best and much needed for our relationship. Dominica will always mean the world to me and be my bestfriend. Sometimes though, you gotta just slow down and evaluate. {Minn, if you’re reading this, i think you know what i mean πβ€}
With that being said, i am thankful for Dominica and for our relationship. Thankful that i have a friend like her, who brings me back to God when im weakest π, talks about the silliest things with me π, and constantly makes me laugh and be happy π.
Here’s to old friendships with a rigid road, but stronger than ever! π Β So much love for ya, minn! β€
Much love, Davianne
Very wise perspective. Love Momma V
