life is good

Hello!

This weekend was another one full of fun things and pure happiness which means this will be another post of sharing the exciting events! ☺

I LOVE concerts and had been wanting to go see Sam Hunt {a country music artist} with his opening artist Michael Ray since he announced he was coming to Lincoln as part of his tour. He had been planning on coming to the Bourbon which was a small place so obviously it sold out quickly. I had thought that we were too late on getting tickets and that it was completely sold out, so of course i was completely bummed out.

Until Friday morning, at 7 am, right when my momma first woke me up she gave me the sheet that showed our order and tickets! πŸ˜† I’m telling you, it doesn’t matter what the situation is and if there seems like no possible way to make something happen, she finds one. She continually makes me happy and fulfills my wants and wishes! Another reason, i am so, so, so beyond blessed by her! πŸ’œ

Anyway so obviously Friday had to be a good day! On our way to school, my sister and i got to pick up breakfast somewhere instead of eating from home. Then for lunch we ordered Jimmy Johns instead of packing one. The school day was good, everyone was in fairly good moods and after school i got to see my beautiful Aunt Holly and her pearly Hummer! πŸ˜€ My friends, it’s the little things that make me the happiest. 😊❀

By that time i was pumped up and ready for the night to begin. Since the concert didn’t start til 9, we had some time to burn so Shaylee and i ran a few errands then went home to change clothes and get ready. We got dressed and talked to our Momma for a little bit and then headed out. The concert was of course amazing and i loved every bit of it! Another fun night with Shaylee and another incredible concert to add to the books! πŸ‘’πŸŽΆπŸ‘Œ

Saturday we had to get up really early because we were to drive to North Platte with our grandparents. The only rough thing from that was that Shaylee and i were obviously tired from the late night before but it turned out all okay. So my momma, Shaylee and i got dressed and ready quick then began the first jaunt to my grandparents house. I love road trips anywhere so i didn’t care too much about being tired but more about the exciting day of traveling we were bound to have! We swung by their house, switched cars then started the second stretch towards North Platte. We ate a yummy lunch, got everything done we needed to do, grabbed some icecream and when we got back home to the farm there was a gorgeous sunset. Overall we spent a lot of quality family time together. I LOVE those people. ❀😊

Today {Sunday} was once again a day well spent with my momma! We ran our errands all day and accomplished tons which is a great feeling at the end of the day! πŸ‘ I guess Sundays are just our days! 😏

Below are some captures of the wonderful things that took place this weekend! Thanks for reading!

mid-week “highs”

Hola! πŸ™‚

Lately I’ve just been thinking about how blessed and lucky i am with the people around me especially my family. So, for this post I’m just gonna write a little about and share some pics Β of the fun things we’ve been up to!

Since my sister is a senior and at an exciting age, she obviously is very busy and gone a lot so my momma and i are getting to spend more time together then we usually would {which is perfectly okay with me πŸ˜‰}. This also gives us a little flash of what it’s going to be like real soon when Shaylee is away at college.

Anyway, Sunday was great and we got to spend the whole day together! 😊 We ran errands most of the day, ate a yummy lunch and then stopped to treat ourselves to some frozen yogurt. Afterwards my momma and i decided to take a little road trip to the nearby lake. We love the country, lake and road trips so we were both fully down. Plus the weather was so wonderful we couldn’t resist. So we ran home got the lawn chairs, some snacks, and the yard leash for our puppy and headed out. There wasn’t much people around which made it even more relaxing and fun. Overall it was an excellent way to get fully ready for the upcoming week and spend some quality time together on a beautiful night! I sure do love my momma!

Monday was another night of my mom and i spending some time together but this time we both went and got our nails done! This is another thing we love and it makes us extra happy. πŸ™‚ Plus Spring is here so what better way to welcome it in then add a touch of it’s pretty colors to your life!

Tuesday night, i got to be with my other family members. My grandparents were in town staying with my cousins so we all got together for dinner. Nothing makes me happier than seeing them in the middle of the week and getting to spend a few hours with them. We are so close and they give me that extra boost i need to finish the week!

So there’s a few positive, happy things I’ve been up to so far this week! I can’t wait to share more of the small events that are big in my heart with you all!

becoming one

Hey there!

It’s finally hitting me that the cheer season is over! Once basketball season is finished then so are we. Yes, there are a few Spring sports left but we need to time to prepare for tryouts and the upcoming year!

The 2014/2015 season was definitely a journey and big eye-opener. It started out really great, summer fundraising and cheer camp. Lots of practicing and preparing and of course all the excitement of receiving new things like poms, our uniforms, even the ugly, white shoes!

Everything was looking good in our eyes but God had a different plan. We lost a great cheerleader, got huge things taken away but most importantly we let go of the critical bonds and characteristics each squad should have. All together we were pretty broken and spread apart.

It took time and plenty of realization to know that God’s plan was greater and we could only move forward from there. That in order to get back on track we were going to have to forgive eachother and begin again. So after lots of prayer and slow healing we grew through our struggles and became a team again. The affects lasted throughout the year but looking back we can know full heartedly that they were lessons learned and all part of God’s plan.

Some things that i found myself loving the most about my squad {including my coach} were:

~even though i barely knew anything that had realistically to do with cheerleading, they were never frustrated about me having to learn everything slower than they did and from the beginning.

~you could be completely yourself around them and have no fear of being judged.

~you could trust & believe another girl when she said she was praying for you because it was obvious.

~when life got rough and you were at your lowest, the love and support from each one’s heart especially showed.

~we could all laugh and joke together. fun was always there.

~we became one and worked with what we had which turned out to making us each stronger and smarter.

~the relationships you formed with each girl were always positive. therefore everyone was so encouraging.

~you became a family and were proud to call them your squad.

After finally pushing myself to become a cheerleader and sticking to it, i found that cheerleading is a passion i have. It truly breaks my heart when people are so quick to believe that ALL cheer squads are full of stuck up, dramaful, and judgmental girls or each cheerleader believes they are better than everyone else. This bothers me because i know that even though it may be hard to believe, not all squads are like that. Sure there is a big number that are {I’ve seen it firsthand} but there is also a good number that aren’t. Those girls, who aren’t a team full of those poor qualities are some of the most loving, caring and supporting gals you’ll ever meet!

I encourage you, no matter what situation you’re in, to not be quick to judge someone and get to know them instead. See what their heart is really like and who knows maybe you’ll become best friends with them and leave an impact on their hearts just like each lady from my squad has left on mine! Life is too short to not get along with people!

In closing, i can say I’m proud that cheerleading is part of my life and is my passion.I have learned so much and became a better person from it. Some of my biggest supporters in life and best friends are part of it and they’re the ones that helped me accomplish this goal and now live out my dream!

Here’s some photos of us as a squad throughout the season. For more check out my Facebook albums.
